EasyCBM system was created by educational researchers from the university of Oregon together with districts partners across the United States. It is designed to give teachers an insight into which students need additional support. It will also allow the teacher to measure the effectiveness of their teaching. Easy CBM has assessment tools for early literacy, oral reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. In addition it offers a math measures that align with the Common Core State Standards, which Guam's has adopted.
Progress monitoring using this system allows to see if their interventions are working and if their students are making progress. This can be done using four to six data points. These points will determine whether the teacher needs to adopt and continue the intervention. Whether the teacher needs to adapt the intervention or just abandon it as it isn’t working. This program has been useful over the years. I was first introduced to it at a Sped training conducted by N. Flores. It has grown with me over the years. I have shared it with colleagues to use in the classroom. other than the oral reading fluency which is done one to one, the students can access the program on-line. The lite version is free and has access to assessment tools. There is the full program which can be purchased.
